Help using Mecanum wheels in a robot application

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on designing a 40kg robot using Mecanum wheels, with a focus on calculating motor torque and determining the maximum load. Participants seek guidance on selecting appropriate materials for the wheels, particularly the feasibility of using 3D printed materials. There is also curiosity about the wheel's functionality in various drive motions, with references to external resources for better understanding. The project appears to be related to schoolwork, prompting further inquiries about its application. Overall, the conversation emphasizes the technical specifications and material choices necessary for the robot's design.

Summary:: need to know spec of motor, max load of robot.

Plan to design robot about 40kg, with mecanum wheel.
But can't figure out ...
how to calculate torque of motor,
how to determine max load of robot,
So how to select meterial of wheel (hope its okay with 3d printed material)

Wow, that's a weird wheel. What links have you been reading about how the wheel works in the different drive motions?

What kind of wheel system of this robot?
What do you think?
Really wonder how this been made

yes, wonder it could be applied to my project.

I gather from your other thread that you have figured it out, yes?
