How did you find PF?

I was searching for posts about an impossible DIY: a synchrotron.

Near retirement age. In the medical field. Love the scientific method, even if I don’t make rational decisions. Fascinated by the black box of physics, the gee-whiz, THAT’S nothing like my familiar visible-spectrum, mg to kg, stationary to about 1000 km/hr world. Passed calculus and loved it, but didn’t get an A grade (the prof’s fault, right?). I don’t really ‘get’ quantum mechanics even when I read the layman’s explanation. I’m “not even wrong.” But I love trying. More of a biology kind of person.
As to the search for “DIY synchrotron,” you don’t know unless you ask. I’ll settle for a cloud chamber.

And yeah, we discourage DIY synchrotron efforts around here -- way too many dangers in trying to do that.
