SUMMARY

The DIN 2999 standard, an older German version of the Whitworth pipe thread standard, has been superseded by BS EN 10226-1:2004, BS EN 10226-2:2005, BS EN 10226-3:2005, and ISO 7-1. To purchase these standards, individuals can buy them from the British Standards Institution (BSI), where members may receive discounts. Additionally, national libraries can often order these standards at no charge for patrons.

  • Familiarity with the British Standards Institution (BSI) and its membership benefits.
  • Knowledge of how to access national library services for standard documents.

  • Explore membership options with the British Standards Institution (BSI) for potential discounts.
  • Investigate the process for requesting standards through national library services.
  • Learn about the implications of using ISO 7-1 in comparison to DIN 2999.

That looks like the old German version of the Whitworth pipe thread standard. It's been superseded by:

BS EN 10226-1:2004
BS EN 10226-2:2005
BS EN 10226-3:2005

There's an ISO standard as well - ISO 7-1.

As for purchasing it, you can buy it from BSI amongst others. If you're a member you'll get a discount, or it may be contained within your subscription. A library may also be able to order it in for you without charge from your national library service.
