This seems like a "textbook-style" problem, and should probably therefore be in the homework section, even if it is not proper homework (at least this is what the moderators have said before).

Do you have a description of finite-difference methods in your textbook? It should explain how to define the discretized derivatives.

Hi! I am struggling with the exercise I mentioned under "Homework statement". The exercise is about a specific "greedy vertex coloring algorithm".
