AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on using the TI-89 calculator to perform integration, specifically for the function f(x) = 2x^3 over the interval [1, 3]. The user successfully executed the command integrate(2x^3,x,1,3) on the calculator, confirming its functionality for calculating definite integrals. The TI-89 comes with a booklet that includes instructions for such operations, and it is suggested that similar resources may be available on the TI website. The user expresses a newfound understanding of the calculator's capabilities while studying Pre-Calculus, where they are learning about integrals and summations.

My TI-89 came with a booklet, such things were described there.

I would be not surprised if the same booklet is available from the TI site.

But I don't feel like checking now, so I just tried integrate(2x^3,x,1,3) - and it worked.

It works, I never knew you could do that. I went on to summations, etc., as I am in Pre-Calculus and we go through all the steps, definition of integral and the such...

Thanks!

I have been idly browsing what Apple have to offer with their new iPhone17. There is mention of 'Vapour cooling' to deal with the heat generated. Would that be the same sort of idea that was used in 'Heat Pipes' where water evaporated at the processor end and liquid water was returned from the cool end and back along a wick. At the extreme high power end, Vapour Phase Cooling has been used in multi-kW RF transmitters where (pure) water was pumped to the Anode / or alternative Collector and...
