How does my refrigerator with no refrigerant work?

TL;DR
How does the heat sink in my refrigerator work?
I recently bought a refrigerator for my semi-truck that has no refrigerant. This refrigerator with no refrigerant has a heat sink to cool off the refrigerator. In terms of physics, how does the heat sink remove heat from the refrigerator?

Probably with Thermo-electric coolers (TECs) based on the Peltier effect. You can google these keywords to learn more.

There is a Peltier effect semiconductor, sandwiched between the heat sink on the outside, and the one on the inside of the cold box. When a current flows through the semiconductor PN junction, a temperature difference appears between the P and N layers. The Peltier element is oriented with the cold face on the inside, and the hot face on the outside. The external heat sink efficiently cools the hot side by air convection, so the temperature on the inside falls.
