Homework Help Overview

The problem involves a car with a mass of 765.1 kg that accelerates from rest to a speed of 20.9 m/s, with the engine delivering a force of 4299.1 N. The objective is to determine the time taken for this acceleration.

Discussion Character

  • Mathematical reasoning, Problem interpretation

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants discuss the relationship between force, mass, acceleration, and time, with some expressing the equations used to derive time from the given parameters.

Discussion Status

Some participants have provided calculations based on the formulas discussed, and there appears to be agreement on the approach taken. However, the discussion does not reach a definitive conclusion regarding the correctness of the final answer.

Contextual Notes

Participants are working within the constraints of the problem as presented, without additional context or information about potential assumptions regarding the conditions of the car's motion.

A 765.1 kg car accelerates from rest to 20.9 m/s. If the engine can deliver 4299.1 N of force, how many seconds does it take the car to do this?

v = a * t;

we know a = f/m;

t = m * v/f

t=m*v/f
t=765.1*20.9/4299.1
t=3.71seconds?

Yes, that's right.

awesome, thanks a lot! i promote you and rock freak to be our class's teacher
