Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around designing a 5V/1A charger using Simulink, focusing on the simulation aspect rather than the physical circuit design. Participants seek guidance on how to represent the charging process in the software.

Discussion Character

  • Homework-related, Technical explanation, Exploratory

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests assistance in designing a charger in Simulink, indicating they have made progress with simulating AC voltage and converting it to DC but are unsure how to proceed further.
  • Several participants suggest looking for existing resources online, including circuit diagrams and tutorials from MathWorks, but the original poster expresses difficulty in finding relevant examples.
  • Another participant mentions their limited experience with Simulink, indicating they may not be able to provide the needed help.
  • One participant suggests a simple zener regulated power supply as a potential approach, although they admit to not having used Simulink themselves.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

There is no consensus on how to proceed with the design in Simulink, and multiple suggestions and resources are offered without a clear resolution to the original request for help.

Contextual Notes

Participants have varying levels of familiarity with Simulink, and there are references to external resources that may not directly address the specific needs of the original poster.

Why not search via google for “circuit diagram for 5v charger”

Hello !
Yes i have found them on google, but i need help to make it in simulink ..

Okay have you rchecked what's on mathworks website? They have a lot of tutorials there.

Yes I have checked everywhere but I didn’t manage to find one similar to my case.. is there a chance you could help me ? I have been succesfull at simulating the AC voltage through a transformer to get it down to 9V or 5V and then connecting a bridge diode to change from AC to DC, but from there I don’t know how to continue.

Thank you in advance

Sadly no, I am only a casual user of MATLAB and not of any simulink stuff.
