Hello, and welcome to MHB, I hate homework! (Wave)

I moved your thread here, because our "Math Motes" forum is for threads of an instructive/informative nature regarding some topic in mathematics.

First off, let me ask you why you are taking a mathematics course? Is it a required core course that has little to do with your actual major?

Actually, I'm a middle schooler looking for homework tips. I originally came here because I needed help with a math topic.

Okay...well, when I was your age, I was no fan of doing homework either...I think very few middle school students are excited about doing homework. The fact that you took the time to register here and post looking for help suggests that you want to succeed, and that's a big part of being motivated.

As far as actually doing your homework, I would suggest setting aside a certain time each day for "homework time." Make sure the environment is good for study, relatively quiet with few distractions.

And if you encounter problems that are confusing, then by all means post here to ask for help. We will be glad to give you guidance in understanding the material better.

Thanks for the idea, I would probably get more done if I planned my time better.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
