Building a robot using a kit is a great way to start for beginners with no prior experience. The Lego Mindstorm set is highly recommended due to its supportive community and educational resources. For those interested in combat robotics, resources like Team Mass 5 can provide valuable insights. Additionally, projects like creating a prosthetic arm using myoelectric sensors highlight the diverse applications of robotics. Engaging in hands-on projects fosters learning through trial and error, making it an exciting journey into robotics.

Hey everyone,

Well, I want to build my first robot, and for learning reasons I thought I would pick up a robot kit. Is that a good idea?

Any tips for someone who wants to build their first robot, and get there feet wet? I have NO experience building robots, but its always been a passion.

Is this a good one/type to start with?

Any tips would be fantastic?

Thanks all

looks like a good start. Life is somewhat a trial and error so try it .

I can recommend getting experience with a Lego Mindstorm set, which, last time I looked, has a large community and is often used in robotics introductory courses.

Hi nukeman..
Well, I have some hands on experience in robotics. Well If you want to build a combat robot then visit www.teammass5.tk It has some basics and I hope It'll be useful.
Best Luck!

hi.. well this is my first time i am doing a robot for my final year project .. i am making a prosthetic arm, controlled by the brain using myoelectric sensors. it is very exciting project.

Had my central air system checked when it sortta wasn't working. I guess I hadn't replaced the filter. Guy suggested I might want to get a UV filter accessory. He said it would "kill bugs and particulates". I know UV can kill the former, not sure how he thinks it's gonna murder the latter. Now I'm finding out there's more than one type of UV filter: one for the air flow and one for the coil. He was suggesting we might get one for the air flow, but now we'll have to change the bulb...
