AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the disappearance of font size control in the forum's post editor. Users note that the font size option is accessible only through the "More Options" button when starting a new thread, but it is absent in replies and edits. It is clarified that while the font size control is not visible in the toolbar, the BBCode for font size still functions. Participants express frustration over the lack of this feature, with one mentioning that text size control has been disabled for years due to misuse. The conversation highlights the varying experiences based on how threads are initiated and the limitations of the current editing tools.

Have you been messing with the "[ ]" BB Code control again, Dave? And where did the Christmas sherry go?

Nope. Not that.

(And I can neither donfirm nor ceny the missing Shristmas Cherry)

When I started a new thread just now, I had to click the "More Options" button at the bottom of the screen to get the line that had the font size control. Maybe try that? (I'm on a Win10 laptop)

Okay, give me a second to take a screenshot. That Christmas sherry had better be back by the time I post the pic...

No, I see it.

It's different depending on how you start a new thread.

This is what I see before clicking the big More Options button in the lower right. Clicking it adds in the font size selector to the Options line at the top.

Yes. But....There's more than one way to start a new thread.

I can start a new thread "inline", thus:

and I get the editor with "More Options", thus:

Or I can start a thread with the "Post Thread" button, thus:

and I get the extra editor functions directly, thus:

But - there is no such control when I reply to a thread, thus:

or when I edit a post, thus:

But what? You click that button and you still don't see the text size control?

Are you on a laptop? Which OS and browser? I'm using Firefox.

Oh, I see what you are asking now. The Reply option does not display the font control or the "More options..." button.

Yeah, neither does the Edit button.

Text size in the editor has been disabled for many years. It's unnecessary and too often abused.

I meant not in the toolbar. The bbcode will still work.

Yay. The thing I really wanted to use I have managed to instead get deprecated. Yay.

Too bad the tiny fonts cut off at the baseline. Otherwise I'd say "Yav!" too.
