Insights Blog : Accept home lab experiment description & conclusions?

AI Thread Summary
Experiments on the physics of the singing voice were proposed for an Insights blog, but guidelines against personal theories led to a decision that it wouldn't align with the blog's standards. The discussion suggested sharing the findings on YouTube instead, allowing for community engagement through video and threads. The original poster expressed concern that distractions, like designing a logo for a new YouTube channel called Quantum Singer, might derail their focus on the experiments. Despite this, they remain hopeful about continuing the project. The conversation emphasizes the importance of adhering to guidelines while exploring alternative platforms for sharing research.

I am doing some experiments related to the physics of the singing voice. I am wondering if (once I reach an appropriate stage), the methods, results and tentative conclusions can be an appropriate subject for an Insights blog.

I am asking because the guidelines do say that "personal theories" are verboten --- however, perhaps it would be compatible with the spirit of the blog to put some experiments and conclusions out there for PF members to weigh in on.

@Swamp Thing, after some internal deliberation, we concluded it would not align with our guidelines

That's ok, guidelines are guidelines, no probs, cool.

Upon your heads be it --- Y'all don't know what you're missing!

In any case, I'm probably too lazy to write up everything and bring it to a presentable shape.

I decided to start a YouTube channel called Quantum Singer, and I designed this logo/avatar for it...

That said, my experience is that once I get distracted into side quests like designing logos for proposed YouTube channels, that is a symptom that my interest in the original project will soon evaporate suddenly. Fingers crossed.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
This came up in my job today (UXP). Never thought to raise it here on PF till now. Hyperlinks really should be underlined at all times. PF only underlines them when they are rolled over. Colour alone (especially dark blue/purple) makes it difficult to spot a hyperlink in a large block of text (or even a small one). Not everyone can see perfectly. Even if they don't suffer from colour deficiency, not everyone has the visual acuity to distinguish two very close shades of text. Hover actions...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
