The discussion centers around unconventional views on health and diet, emphasizing a preference for eating out, particularly at Denny's, and a belief that cholesterol is a myth perpetuated by the medical industry. Participants express a carefree attitude towards germs, suggesting that exposure to them strengthens the immune system. There is a notable dismissal of traditional health advice, with some claiming that heavy exercise allows for indulgent eating without health repercussions. The conversation shifts to humorous and unrelated facts about armadillos, including their unique behaviors and biology, which serve as a light-hearted distraction from the initial health debate. Overall, the thread combines skepticism about conventional health narratives with playful banter about armadillos, illustrating a blend of serious and humorous commentary on diet and wellness.

Armadillos are strongly attracted to that place we all know as "where the rubber meets the road".

Also, I seriously doubt they would eat pansies.

Armadillos are also the only known animal that can contract the same strain of leprosy that infects humans.

Yes, its because armadillos have such low body temperatures compared to other animals. Because of this they can actually carry many other disease not found in most other animals. It is also what makes them excellent test subjects for lab experiments.

Correlation does not imply causation. Pebbles have low body temperatures too, yet they carry relatively few diseases and make poor test subjects.
