I've encountered so many problems with Firefox that I had to switch back to IE.

Really? That's odd, I never encountered a single problem :bugeye: What was the worst problem?

Evo,

The website in question is actually at fault. Firefox actually complies with all w3c standards. Any website which does not render properly under Firefox is either non-compliant, or uses some kind of extensions which only IE supports. Both are bad ideas.

I gave Firefox a couple of tries, but I didn't really like it because I was very used to IE. However, very recently, I decided to give it one more try just for the heck of it, and have been hooked since.

I can't really understand how I lived without Firefox and all these amazing extensions. I'll probably go insane without them.

I use Opera because I cannot live without the mouse gestures. Yes, I've used FF, but the gestures have a noticeable lag to them. Opera has no lag because it's a native feature, makes for seamless browsing.

But FF does have more robustness, compatibility and stability.

The best browser in terms of spoofing (the user agent string) is Konqueror (only available in Linux, AFAIK). Some websites cannot be fooled by Opera and FF despite the superficial setting to masquerade as IE, but Konqueror can spoof the exact version of IE (6) and even the OS (Win XP Pro). So that's cool.

Opera's Mouse Gestures are very very nice compared to any firefox mouse gestures extension I have tried. My only complaint about Opera is their stupid middle click action that always centers to the screen. I used Opera for about a month and I could never get used to that damn middle click, other than that Opera is a great web browser.

scott1, you do know you can install firefox without bothering IE? You can even stick firefox on a USB memory stick and run it from there.

I just downloaded it.It's on a external USB harddrive would it be ok to download extensions for it?

Sure, it will be fine. When you install extensions it will stick them in the same folder where you installed firefox. This is the case with portable firefox.
