SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for object tracking software capable of analyzing video footage of a small moving object captured through a digital camera with a microscope. The user seeks a tool that can automatically track the trajectory and record the position of the object across thousands of frames, rather than manually selecting points in each frame. A recommended tool is the TLD (Tracking-Learning-Detection) algorithm, which can be found at the provided link. The user is currently testing the free version of this software to evaluate its effectiveness.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of video analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with object tracking algorithms
  • Basic knowledge of digital imaging and microscopy
  • Experience with software installation and usage
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the TLD (Tracking-Learning-Detection) algorithm for object tracking
  • Research other object tracking software options, such as OpenCV
  • Learn about video processing techniques in Python
  • Investigate frame extraction methods for video analysis
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, computer vision engineers, and anyone involved in motion analysis or video tracking of small objects will benefit from this discussion.

I'm doing experiment of a small moving object. The observation is made through a digital camera with microscope installed in front. I want to study the motion of it and I already recorded a video of it's motion. The next thing comes to track the trajectory and record the position of the object in each frame. Is there a software to do this for thousands of frames at once, instead of ME picking out the point in each frame? The hard thing for the software might be to identify one special point in the object to track and afterwards do the thing for a series of frames. Does anyone know such kind of tool? It must exist, I believe. Thank you~

You might want to look into something like http://info.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Personal/Z.Kalal/tld.html.

Thanks, man, I'm trying the free version and see how it works.
