I am having some computer troubles with one of my other computers, so I am using an alternate laptop. However, it has a login username and password, and I cannot get past. Is there any way to bypass this and use the computer?

The computer runs on Windows 2000 proffessional.

You can try restarting it in safe mode and using the administrator account which usually will have a blank password. Of course this is Win2k and I haven't used that for a long while.

Try this link: http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm#20

Your most viable option is the logon.scr trick: http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password_alternate_logon_trick.htm

There is no need to install another OS copy, just take the hard drive and mount it in another PC, copy over the logon.scr and cmd.exe files as it says, and just switch it back in (of course, don't forget to switch the screen saver back).
