SUMMARY

There is currently no dedicated software specifically designed to display hydration or solvation shells. However, molecular dynamics simulations can effectively visualize ions and surrounding water molecules forming hydration shells. Utilizing tools that support molecular dynamics, such as GROMACS or LAMMPS, will provide adequate insights into hydration phenomena. The discussion emphasizes the importance of simulation software in understanding solvation processes.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of molecular dynamics simulations
  • Familiarity with GROMACS or LAMMPS software
  • Knowledge of solvation shell concepts
  • Basic principles of molecular visualization tools
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore GROMACS for molecular dynamics simulations
  • Learn about LAMMPS for simulating solvation shells
  • Research visualization tools compatible with molecular dynamics data
  • Study the principles of hydration shell formation in aqueous solutions

Is there dedicated hydration/solvation shell software?
Hi,

Is there Hydration/solvation shell software?
I mean softwares able to show ions/molecules and surrounding water molecules forming hydrations shell?

I don't know of any dedicated software for this, but simple molecular dynamics simulations will probably give you an adequate answer.
