Kepler's laws, universal gravitation mcq doubt

In summary, Kepler's laws are a set of three laws that describe the motion of planets around the sun. The first law, also known as the Law of Ellipses, states that the orbit of a planet is an ellipse with the sun at one of the two foci. The second law, also known as the Law of Equal Areas, states that a line joining a planet and the sun will sweep out equal areas in equal intervals of time. The third law, also known as the Law of Harmonies, states that the square of a planet's orbital period is directly proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit. The concept of universal gravitation, proposed by Sir Isaac Newton, states that every particle in the universe

What are Kepler's laws?

Kepler's laws are a set of three laws formulated by German astronomer Johannes Kepler in the 17th century to describe the motion of planets around the sun. They are based on the observations made by astronomer Tycho Brahe.

What is the first law of Kepler?

Kepler's first law, also known as the Law of Ellipses, states that the orbit of a planet around the sun is an ellipse with the sun at one of the two foci.

What is the second law of Kepler?

Kepler's second law, also known as the Law of Equal Areas, states that a line joining a planet and the sun will sweep out equal areas in equal intervals of time.

What is the third law of Kepler?

Kepler's third law, also known as the Law of Harmonies, states that the square of the orbital period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit.

What is the concept of universal gravitation?

Universal gravitation is a physical law proposed by Sir Isaac Newton that states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
