SUMMARY

The discussion centers on recommendations for books on relativistic quantum mechanics suitable for undergraduate students. Participants suggest that most comprehensive material is found in graduate-level texts such as "Sakurai" and introductory Quantum Field Theory (QFT) books. Additionally, "Shankar" is mentioned as a resource that bridges undergraduate and graduate content effectively.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic quantum mechanics principles
  • Familiarity with classical mechanics concepts
  • Knowledge of linear algebra and differential equations
  • Basic exposure to quantum field theory
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "Sakurai's Modern Quantum Mechanics" for advanced concepts
  • Explore "Shankar's Principles of Quantum Mechanics" for a comprehensive overview
  • Investigate introductory Quantum Field Theory texts for foundational knowledge
  • Study the mathematical frameworks used in relativistic quantum mechanics
USEFUL FOR

Undergraduate physics students, educators in quantum mechanics, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of relativistic quantum mechanics concepts.

Hello everyone!

I would like you to recommend me a book for relativistic quantum mechanics. It's for an undergraduated class.

thanks

Most of that material is in graduate texts like Sakurai or in the beginning of QFT books. Shankar probably has some, it is between undergrad and grad level.
