Hi. I am just starting to study QFT using the path integral method and for which the main textbook is by Srednicki. Does anyone know of any good online videos which would be suitable
Thanks
Thanks
Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is a theoretical framework that combines quantum mechanics and special relativity to describe the behavior of subatomic particles and their interactions. It is considered to be the most fundamental theory of physics and is used to understand the behavior of matter and energy at a fundamental level.
The path integral method is a mathematical technique used in QFT to calculate the probability amplitudes of all possible paths of a particle traveling from one point to another. It is based on the principle that the probability of an event occurring is equal to the sum of the contributions from all possible paths that lead to that event.
The path integral method is important in QFT because it allows for a more intuitive and visual understanding of the behavior of particles and their interactions. It also provides a powerful mathematical tool for calculating complex quantum systems and making predictions about their behavior.
The path integral method has a wide range of applications in QFT, including calculations of particle interactions, quantum field theories, and phase transitions in condensed matter systems. It is also used in cosmology and string theory to study the behavior of the universe at a fundamental level.
There are many online videos and lectures available on various platforms such as YouTube, Coursera, and edX that cover QFT using the path integral method. Some popular resources include lectures by Leonard Susskind, David Tong, and Brian Greene. Additionally, there are many textbooks and online articles available for further study.
