Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around a riddle involving an airplane carrying bricks, exploring the implications of the phrasing regarding the location of the bricks after one falls off. The conversation evolves into a series of humorous exchanges and riddles, diverging from the original question.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Debate/contested
  • Humorous

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants interpret "from the plane" to mean the bricks were on top of the plane, suggesting that there would be zero bricks remaining on the plane.
  • Others argue that "from the plane" could also imply bricks inside the plane, leading to ambiguity about the total count remaining.
  • A participant states that the question is impossible to answer due to the lack of information about how many bricks were inside versus on top of the plane.
  • One participant asserts that the answer is definitively 79, without addressing the ambiguity raised by others.
  • The conversation shifts to a series of unrelated riddles and humorous exchanges about putting animals in a refrigerator, which further diverts from the original topic.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the interpretation of the original question regarding the bricks. Multiple competing views remain about the phrasing and its implications, and the discussion evolves into unrelated topics.

Contextual Notes

The discussion includes assumptions about the physical arrangement of the bricks and the implications of the wording, which remain unresolved. The transition to humorous riddles introduces additional layers of complexity that detract from the original inquiry.

An airplane was carrying 80 bricks. One fell off from the plane. How many bricks will be there in the plane?

Apparently the bricks were ON the plane, not IN the plane, so zero.

"from the plane" could mean "from inside the plane" too, no?

The word "off" preceded "from the plane", so I would say no.

And considering the wording, I think the question is impossible to answer.

The plane was carrying 80 bricks. How many are inside and how many are on top? No way to know. There could have been 79 inside and 1 on top, or 78 inside and 2 on top, etc.

Incorrect. The answer is 79.

How would you put an elephant inside a refrigerator in three steps?

Apply the Banach-Tarski procedure on the fridge three times, then put him in the fridge.

Wrong. 1) Open fridge door 2) put elephant inside 3) close fridge door

Next Question. How would you put a deer inside the fridge in four steps?

Apply Banach-Tarski four times and put in the deer (you have to apply Banach-Tarski four times in order to make it fit in the deer TOGETHER with the elephant which is already in the fridge).

Wrong Again. 1) open fridge door 2) take out the elephant 3) put the deer inside and 4) close fridge door

The king of jungle invited all animals to a feast. Who could not come?

Anyway, here are the answers to your next three questions:

1) The deer is in the fridge.
2) The human crosses normally because the alligators are at the Lion King's party.
3) The human gets hit in the head with a brick.

Hmmm...

Why was the human crossing the river?

  • #12
Because a human is an animal and he had to attend the Lion King's party?

Nopes. To take the deer out of the fridge.

Why would he want to take the deer out of the fridge?

To cook the deer in Lion King's feast.

Nope, because the deer ordered 80 bricks and the human was going to inform him that the plane arrived.

The answer to your next question is: The deer could not have his house, because the human to build it had died out of falling brick.

  • #18
But why did the deer want to build a house?

The same reason, the deer ordered 80 bricks for.
