Making a Giant Telescope Mirror Takes Years

I saw the mirror lab at the University of Arizona when I was enrolled there. Very cool!
 
A delicate process that's for sure!

I couldn't help but thinking ligor mortis in telescope melted glass terms. If that makes any sense, which I actually doubt! o0)

EDIT: Well, I actually didn't mean "rigor mortis" but the post-mortem state of a body where the blood sinks to the bottom of the corpse. I thought it was called "ligor mortis" but searching for it now I come up empty.

In Bangkok's Don Mueng airport is a corridor. The floor is polished by a robot. Shiniest floor you ever saw, reflects the lights like a son of a gun.
