Mathematica Problem: Functions in BasicInput Palette Not Working

Im having a problem using mathematica. It just started to do this.

The functions in the BasicInput palette stopped working... when ever i try to use one i get something like this:
\!\(∫\_\% \ \)

Any help would be great...
