Matter and antimatter annihilation quarks

So I'm wonder

How does the annihilation occur? Does the quarks pair up like magnets for matter and antimatter? Do matter and antimatter have the same quarks?

You cannot think of matter anitimatter annihilation in classical terms, it is a quantum field theory process. You might get a mental image without it but that's it.

Antiquarks are not the same thing as quarks.

Right I was thinking maybe quarks and antiquarks pair up before they annihilate each other, maybe the reaction is too fast to be captured? Quantum field theory would be a hard one
