Modeling a multi-story building using Ansys Apdl 14.5

Click For Summary
Modeling a multi-story building in Ansys APDL can be complex due to the need to create numerous beams and spars. Users are encouraged to consider importing geometry from CAD software to simplify the process. The original poster is focused on using only Ansys for the design and seeks a step-by-step guide for modeling. Clarifying the type of analysis intended for the building may also help in providing more targeted advice. Overall, detailed tutorials specific to Ansys APDL for this purpose are lacking, making community support essential.

Hello I am new to Ansys and currently conducting a study on ''property of lightweight structures'' I have read and watched videos online but nobody has the tutorials...i'm hoping someone here can help me on how to model a multi-storey building using Ansys...I hope this post makes sense. Thanks

Creating the geometric representation of a building using just Ansys APDL will be quite an undertaking, since you would be creating potentially hundreds of beams/spars. Have you considered importing a geometry file from another source?

Hey thanks for the reply..but what other source would you recommend?

Is the building already designed in some CAD tool? What kind of analysis are you looking to perform on said building?

The building will be designed in ansys...am using only ansys software to design and my question is how do i model the building step by step..but hey my question have been answered. Thanks a lot

Had my central air system checked when it sortta wasn't working. I guess I hadn't replaced the filter. Guy suggested I might want to get a UV filter accessory. He said it would "kill bugs and particulates". I know UV can kill the former, not sure how he thinks it's gonna murder the latter. Now I'm finding out there's more than one type of UV filter: one for the air flow and one for the coil. He was suggesting we might get one for the air flow, but now we'll have to change the bulb...
