SUMMARY

The discussion revolves around identifying a specific symbol described as a line through two half circles, resembling a stick figure without a head. Participants suggest that the symbol may represent the Greek letter Phi (Φ) and relate it to concepts such as orthogonality and a minor seventh flat 5 chord in music theory. The symbol's connection to music is highlighted, particularly its representation of a half-diminished chord in the context of the C major scale. The conversation emphasizes the importance of providing sources for symbols to avoid confusion.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic musical theory, specifically chords and scales.
  • Familiarity with Greek letters and their representations in various fields.
  • Knowledge of orthogonality in mathematics and its applications.
  • Ability to interpret visual symbols and their meanings in different contexts.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the Greek letter Phi (Φ) and its significance in mathematics and physics.
  • Explore the concept of orthogonality and its applications in various disciplines.
  • Study minor seventh flat 5 chords and their role in music theory.
  • Investigate the relationship between symbols and their meanings in different cultural contexts.
USEFUL FOR

Musicians, music theorists, mathematicians, and anyone interested in the intersection of symbols and their meanings across different fields.

It's a line through two half circles. Specifically:

Imagine about 40% of the bottom of a circle above about 40% of the top of a circle with a little space between them and then a vertical line starting above the circles and going through the middle of each circle and then finishing a little below the bottom circle. The end result looks a bit like a stick figure withour a head.

Any ideas?

Where are you getting this from? Please post the source.

It was a facebook post with no reference to it's origin. sorry

So, it's meaningless. Sorry. Just because someone posts nonsense doesn't mean it deserves any thought.

I suppose if I had the source I would not need help/ Thanks anyways ...

People post nonsense, don't spend time on it.

Also. The symbol represented orthogonality and ,apparently with 'Finale' diagonally, a minor seventh flat 5 - half diminished chord- (the 4 note chord (1-3-5-7) of the seventh note of a major scale). {in C B-D-F-A) .
Not that that has anything to do with physics- even though many physics professors are avid musicians. (Not to mention many physics (and other) devotees here. mathal
