What do I need to study in order to become a network theorist in academia? What fields and subfields do I need to major or minor in?

Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics are good fields for you to consider. I would probably suggest either Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
