Optical pyrometers - advantages and disadvantages?

Hello I really want to know what the advantages and disadvantages of optical pyrometers are?

+ Cheap, rugged, high temperature, wie bandwidth
- Low senstitvity, poor time response.

Advantage:
non-contact measurement.

Disadvantage:
object must be hot enough to radiate visibly
systematic error from emissivity difference between pyrometer filament and object
