AI Thread Summary
To log out of Physics Forums, users should click on the "MY PF" link at the top of the page, which reveals a menu with the "Log out" option. On mobile devices, the logout process may vary; users can access it by navigating to notifications, then preferences, and scrolling to "Your Account" to find the logout option. For direct access, a link to the account page is available: https://www.physicsforums.com/account/. The logout process is consistent across devices, though the mobile interface may require additional steps. Clear instructions help users successfully log out from both desktop and mobile platforms.

How do I log out? Does anyone have the PF log out link?

Physics news on Phys.org
You will find at the top of the Physics Forums page, a tab or link saying "MY PF".
Left-click "MY PF". This will display a menu, and on this menu near the top, you will see the link, "Log out."
Left click on "Log out", and you will be logged out.

Is it different on mobile? I'm not sure where the logout is with Firefox on Android?

I've just looked on my phone, I use Chrome. It's true, I can't see a log-out linkEDITED - FOUND IT!

Go to your notifications. From there go to preferences and scroll to the bottom until you see Your Account. When you clock that, you'll see a Your Account button at the top of a age of various options. Click on that and there's an option to log out.

Alternatively try this link to go directly to your account https://www.physicsforums.com/account/

Thank you.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
This came up in my job today (UXP). Never thought to raise it here on PF till now. Hyperlinks really should be underlined at all times. PF only underlines them when they are rolled over. Colour alone (especially dark blue/purple) makes it difficult to spot a hyperlink in a large block of text (or even a small one). Not everyone can see perfectly. Even if they don't suffer from colour deficiency, not everyone has the visual acuity to distinguish two very close shades of text. Hover actions...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
