PhD Application Personal Statement Help: How Detailed?

In summary, when discussing research experience in a graduate school application, it is important to provide specific details that tie back to your overall goals and career interests. This can include mentioning specific projects, such as developing a C algorithm, and explaining how it relates to your interests and how it helped. This information may be more appropriate for a Curriculum Vitae rather than a general overview.

How detailed should the research experience be? For example, are things like "I developed a C algorithm to help the process of XXX?" worth mentioning? Or should this go to the Curriculum Vitae?
Thank you!:woot:

I can't speak for everyone, but when I review applications, I am looking for the applicant to clearly spell out *why* they want to enter graduate school- career goals, etc. I am interested in specific details as it pertains to the overall goals- why were you interested in 'helping the process of XXX'? How (and whom) did it help?
