Can anybody tell me how to convert phenyl acetic acid to sodium phenyl acetate. thanks.

You are trying to convert an acid to salt. What kind of reaction would give you that?
 
Add sodium hydroxide.
 
I want to test a humidity sensor with one or more saturated salt solutions. The table salt that I have on hand contains one of two anticaking agents, calcium silicate or sodium aluminosilicate.
