SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on the search for an authoritative book on rotational and rolling motion, emphasizing the need for comprehensive theoretical content rather than practice questions. Users recommend "Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics" by Meriam & Kraige and "Vector Mechanics for Engineers: Dynamics" by Beer & Johnston as suitable resources. Both texts are recognized for their thorough explanations of the concepts involved in rotational dynamics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic physics principles, particularly mechanics.
  • Familiarity with engineering dynamics concepts.
  • Knowledge of vector analysis as it applies to motion.
  • Ability to interpret theoretical frameworks in physics literature.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics" by Meriam & Kraige for in-depth theoretical insights.
  • Explore "Vector Mechanics for Engineers: Dynamics" by Beer & Johnston for a comprehensive understanding of rotational motion.
  • Study the principles of angular momentum and torque in rotational dynamics.
  • Investigate online resources or courses on engineering dynamics for supplementary learning.
USEFUL FOR

Students of engineering, educators in physics, and professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of rotational and rolling motion concepts.

Hey PF readers,
I am currently in dire need of a good(awesome) book on rotational and/or rolling motion which explains ALL the concepts and nicks of rolling and rotational motion. The book need not have many questions to practice bit should have HUGE amount of theory, that is, concept. It would be even better if you can provide a link to the book.
Thank you!

Thanks for the post! Sorry you aren't generating responses at the moment. Do you have any further information, come to any new conclusions or is it possible to reword the post?

Almost any introductory engineering dynamics book should do what you need. I like Meriam & Kraige but many would prefer Beer & Johnston.
