Publishing School Project Report?

SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the publishability of a 50-page school project report focused on the analysis of loads, load paths, and deflection calculations of a girder. The report is divided into theoretical and calculation sections, showcasing the author's structural analysis skills. While the author expresses pride in the work, it is concluded that the material may not meet the standards for formal publication in physics or engineering journals. However, hosting the report on a personal website is suggested as a viable option for showcasing skills to potential employers.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of structural analysis concepts
  • Familiarity with load paths and deflection calculations
  • Basic knowledge of report writing and formatting
  • Experience with website hosting and online portfolio creation
NEXT STEPS
  • Research platforms for hosting academic or project reports
  • Learn about effective online portfolio creation techniques
  • Explore guidelines for publishing in engineering journals
  • Investigate how to present technical skills in resumes and cover letters
USEFUL FOR

Students in engineering or architecture, aspiring structural analysts, and individuals looking to enhance their professional portfolios with project work.

In class, we were assigned a project about analysis of a loads, load paths and calculations of deflection of a girder in actual plans.

My report ( a total of 50 pages) is divided into two sections : the first talking about some theory and the second presenting calculations.

Do you think this is "publishable" material, if yes which website can I publish it to?

My report is not research - but I am proud of it and I think it will be a good showcase of my structural analysis skills and something to add to my resume.

Thanks!

You could get a website, host the paper there, and put a link on your resume or cover letter to the analysis as a sample of your work for future employers to view. I'm not an engineer, but that's not something that would be considered publishable in physics (especially not at that length).
