SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on selecting components for building a robot chess, emphasizing two primary options: a robotic arm or weight/pressure sensors. The concept of using a "Parallel Kinematic Robot" is highlighted for the pick-and-place functionality. Additionally, a simple implementation using a single servo without a controller is mentioned as a potential approach for basic tasks.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of robotic arms and their mechanics
  • Familiarity with weight and pressure sensors
  • Knowledge of Parallel Kinematic Robots
  • Basic concepts of servo motors and their control
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specifications and applications of Parallel Kinematic Robots
  • Explore tutorials on building robotic arms with servos
  • Investigate the integration of weight and pressure sensors in robotics
  • Watch videos on simple robotic projects to gain practical insights
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for robotics enthusiasts, hobbyists, and engineers interested in building robotic systems, particularly those focused on automation and control in projects like robot chess.

Hi, I'm completely new to robotic engineering, recently I got assigned to create a robot chess. There are 2 options robotic arm or using weight/pressure sensor so I would like to know what are the components I will need for this assignment.

You might consider "Parallel Kinematic Robot" for pick and place process. Search Youtube to get an idea.

My friend showed me a video of this thing made by some guy and he only used one servo and NO CONTROLLER to control the arms for picking up colored sweets and placing them accordingly !
