What this is discussing was originally called 'limits to growth', or the carrying capacity of the global ecosystem. Economists pointed to the 'green revolution' as an example of getting past those limits, which was correct. At the time. The boundary concept looks at the issue from more fine grained approach.

There are statistics involved here to figure out our situation on planet Earth. Why is this not being taken more seriously when it is the most advanced research on planetary boundaries? The green shift is not possible with our world economic model today.
