Spectrophotometric Copper Determination calculations

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on the calculations required for spectrophotometric determination of copper in a chemistry lab. The user expresses confusion regarding the calculations needed for their lab report, specifically referencing images that contain data and instructions. Key aspects include the need for understanding molar absorptivity, which is not clearly addressed in the provided materials. The user seeks assistance in performing the necessary calculations to complete their lab report effectively.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of spectrophotometry principles
  • Familiarity with molar absorptivity calculations
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory solution preparation
  • Ability to interpret graphical data from spectrophotometric results
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the Beer-Lambert Law for calculating absorbance
  • Learn how to determine molar absorptivity using spectrophotometric data
  • Explore methods for preparing standard solutions for calibration
  • Investigate data analysis techniques for interpreting spectrophotometric graphs

The template doesn't really work well for mine considering its a lab sorry ><. I am quite confused on how to do the calculations on my chemistry lab, i have scanned, and rewritten my answers so they would be more clear :-) . the questions i have are on the 3rd and 4th image, I am just really not sure how to do the calculations, if someone can show me how that would be great, i can do the graph and all that, I'm just not sure how to do the calculations. thank you very much, the lab report is below. (note, if the images are to small just keep clicking them, and they will open again, but larger)
***as an added token of my appreciation i will give the first person to answer this a free demonoid account***(if wanted) just trying to give something back :-)

I was looking at your images to find any information about molar absorbtivity. I found none. What did I miss, if anything?

here are the instructions on how we made up the solutions. sorry for leaving them out ><
