Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the search for IAU rotational models for planets in the Sol solar system, specifically focusing on resources such as tables and algorithms related to planetary rotation. Participants are exploring available literature and online resources to aid in the development of an orbital flight simulator project.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant is seeking information on IAU rotational models for all planets, including tables and algorithms related to pole and meridian.
  • Another participant mentions finding IAU WGCCRE papers on the USGS website that provide complete rotational element tables for all planets and satellites.
  • There are repeated requests for links to the found resources, indicating a collaborative effort to share information.
  • A link to the IAU WGCCRE information is provided by one participant, which may assist others in their search.
  • One participant expresses intent to review the provided resources when time permits.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the existence of IAU WGCCRE papers as a valuable resource, but there is no consensus on the completeness or applicability of the information for their specific needs.

Contextual Notes

Limitations include the potential variability in the completeness of the IAU rotational models and the specific needs of participants regarding the algorithms and tables.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals interested in planetary science, orbital mechanics, and simulation development may find this discussion and the linked resources useful.

TL;DR
Looking for some information about IAU rotational model information.
I am developing my own project called orbital flight simulator myself. I was looking for some IAU rotational model about all planets (Sol solar system) through the Internet and my books but was unable find any information. Does anyone have good books or information (tables and algorithms like pole and meridian) about IAU rotational models for all planets?

Well, no one response my question. I now found IAU WGCCRE papers on USGS website that provides complete rotational element tables for all planets and satellites.

Would you happen to have the link?

Thanks, I'll check them out when I have some time.
