Hey there everyone. Most, if not all of us, had the feeling of being excited and ready to take on what the coming semester/quarter will bring us. We set goals right before school starts and hope to make the best of it. However, as time passes, we let that motivation pass by and we do not accomplish what we had originally planned. This semester, I am going to have a lot of heavy work to do and worried that my motivation will slip. I want to make the best of my education and I want to keep it that way. I want to look at something different every day that helps me keep this motivation and desire to work hard. Do any of you have pieces of advice to share on how to stay motivated through out school and achieve your educational goals? Thanks in advance.

P.S I do apologize if this is not the appropriate sub-forum to post this, but I believe motivation should be a part of Academic Guidance.

1. Make time to read up on non-course ideas. It's surprising how many students do just the coursework. Keep yourself motivate by exploring your own ideas - even the silly ones.

2. Form a study/homework group with people in your courses and pull your weight in the group. Don't copy answers blindly, but designate "experts" to start early on particular problems which they can then help the rest of the group with.

3. Constantly re-assess your study approach and skills and make an effort to make yourself as efficient and comprehensive as you can.

4. Ensure you get enough quality sleep.

5. Exercise regularly.

6. Take time out for fun things completely unrelated to your school work.

Think about your end goals. Whenever I feel like being lazy, I think about how I want to go to so-and-so graduate school and do this or that in some competitive field or whatever. That usually helps.
