hi guys...can anyone tell me that whether v use only globe valve in steamline connections in common practice?

Physics news on Phys.org
If the valve is normally open, and closed only to isolate the line for maintenance then a gate valve would be specified (lower cost). If the valve is throttled to control flow a globe valve is specified. Throttling a gate valve offers poor flow control and quickly wrecks the discs so the valve will leak by when closed.
