How did you find PF?
I found this site through a web search.
Hello PF,

I am a student in between graduating high school and starting undergrad. I was, starting from kindergarten, a precocious youth when it came to mathematics. Over the years, maths has turned from a mere talent into what is now an almost spiritual field for me; even when I am on vacation away from my reading desk, I consistently dream of certain mathematical objects vividly, and they appear to me in a way which cannot be replicated in ordinary waking life. The consistency of these dreams has only increased recently, and I have taken it as an impetus to find people with whom I can discuss maths in a way I simply cannot with friends and family (even if said people here do not have the same ‘nocturnal hallucinations’ as I do).

Most of what I know is self-taught, and so I hope to learn a great deal from the many more learnèd people on this forum. I have been focused on studying algebraic geometry and algebraic topology as of recent. One of my textbooks should be arriving tomorrow :)

I cannot wait to meet many of you.

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
