Homework Help Overview

The discussion revolves around understanding the behavior of images formed by mirrors, particularly in the context of funhouse mirrors and their effects on magnification. Participants are exploring the implications of different types of mirrors on image orientation and characteristics.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Assumption checking, Conceptual clarification

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants are attempting to identify which case of mirror behavior applies to funhouse mirrors and questioning the inversion of images. There is a suggestion to refer to external resources for clarification.

Discussion Status

The discussion is ongoing, with participants sharing insights and questioning each other's assumptions about mirror behavior. Some guidance has been offered regarding the importance of ray diagrams, although there is no explicit consensus on the correct interpretation of the problem.

Contextual Notes

There appears to be a lack of familiarity with ray diagrams among some participants, which may be influencing their understanding of the problem. Additionally, references to personal experiences with mirrors are noted, indicating varying levels of engagement with the topic.

no. My point was funhouse mirrors do not typically invert the image, maybe you never been to one, so look to that case for an answer to your question re magnification. Its always better to be able to do the ray diagrams, but from your other post, I see that this might not be a skill you have yet.

Hehe-I now remember the last time I had seen other than a plane mirror--it was strategically located at waist height just above the toilet. Very gratifying place to relieve oneself.
