SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on finding a free software tool for calculating thermodynamic properties such as enthalpy, entropy, density, and viscosity for various substances. A recommended resource is the NIST Chemistry WebBook, accessible at http://webbook.nist.gov/chemistry/fluid/. This tool provides comprehensive data and is suitable for users needing reliable thermodynamic calculations.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of thermodynamic properties (enthalpy, entropy, density, viscosity)
  • Familiarity with online scientific resources
  • Knowledge of substance classification in thermodynamics
  • Ability to interpret thermodynamic data
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the NIST Chemistry WebBook for detailed thermodynamic data
  • Research additional free software tools for thermodynamic calculations
  • Learn about the principles of thermodynamics relevant to property calculations
  • Investigate the use of Python libraries for thermodynamic property calculations
USEFUL FOR

Chemical engineers, researchers in thermodynamics, and students studying physical chemistry will benefit from this discussion, particularly those seeking reliable tools for thermodynamic property calculations.

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a free software (or web link) for calculation of thermodynamics properties (enthalpy, entropy, density, viscosity, etc.) of a wide range of substances.Does anyone have any suggestions about ?

Thanks in advance.

I have encountered a vertically oriented hydraulic cylinder that is designed to actuate and slice heavy cabling into sections with a blade. The cylinder is quite small (around 1.5 inches in diameter) and has an equally small stroke. The cylinder is single acting (i.e. it is pressurized from the bottom, and vented to atmosphere with a spring return, roughly 200lbs of force on the spring). The system operates at roughly 2500 psi. Interestingly, the cylinder has a pin that passes through its...
