SUMMARY

This discussion addresses issues encountered while using COMSOL Multiphysics version 5, specifically with the parametric sweep and difference operation features. The user experienced an error message stating "parameter list gives empty sweep" when attempting to modify the sweep range, which was resolved by reverting to the original range. Additionally, the user faced difficulties selecting a box placed inside a sphere, which was later resolved. These insights highlight common troubleshooting scenarios in COMSOL 5.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics version 5
  • Understanding of parametric sweeps in simulation software
  • Knowledge of geometric operations within COMSOL, such as difference operations
  • Basic skills in navigating the COMSOL user interface
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to effectively use parametric sweeps in COMSOL 5
  • Explore troubleshooting techniques for common errors in COMSOL
  • Learn about geometric operations and their applications in COMSOL
  • Investigate best practices for managing parameter ranges in simulations
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for new users of COMSOL Multiphysics, particularly those working with parametric sweeps and geometric operations, as well as experienced users seeking to troubleshoot similar issues.

Hi

İ recently started working with Comsol and have a few basic queries. İ am using Comsol version 5.

1. İ am trying to use parametric sweep. So i used it once and saved the file. Now when i try to change the range of sweep it is giving me an error : "parameter list gives empty sweep". When i enter the old range, it starts running fine.

2. İ was trying to use difference operation. İ had created a sphere and placed a box inside it. The problem is once inside the sphere i am not able to select the box, only sphere is highlighted. Why is that?

İ have found the solution, so thanks i have nothing to add to this thread
