Homework Statement


Shown from the top view are six blocks that are sitting at rest on rotating turntables. All of the turntables have the same rotation rate (i.e. same frequency). The masses of the blocks and how far out from the center they sit varies. The specific values are given in the figures.

Which of the following statements are true about the situations depicted in the figures above?

True False The linear (tangential) speed of the blocks is the same in all pictures
True False The blocks in picture B and E experience the same centripetal acceleration
True False The period of rotation of the blocks is the same in all pictures
True False The blocks in pictures A and B experience the same centripetal force
True False The net force on all blocks is the centripetal force

My answers are in bold, now it says I am wrong, but it doesn't tell me which is wrong, can any1 help me out.

These questions relate to the two you got wrong:
(1) How can tangential speed be calculated from angular speed?
(2) How does period relate to angular speed?

1) V=R*w
2) P=2pi/w

is that right?
