Understand why temperature is constant

Does anybody knows the reasons why in Stratopause, Mesopause, Thermopause regions of the atmosphere the temperature is constant? Thanks in advance.

Beware that the temperature profile shown in that link is idealized one. It is not at any time, and space representative of real atmosphere. This may result only if years and years of data are averaged taken be the same instrument, or certain statistical methods applied. (just for clarity)
