Voltage Regulation: How to Calculate Reactive Power

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

Voltage regulation is achieved by balancing reactive power in electrical systems. Specifically, setting the capacitor value to supply half of the reactive power absorbed by the line results in optimal voltage regulation. The discussion highlights the need for a mathematical equation to quantify this relationship, emphasizing the importance of understanding various voltage regulator circuit types. For further details, refer to the Wikipedia page on voltage regulators.

I a question:

1. How does voltage regulation works? I was told that if we set the value of the capacitor so that it supplies one-half of the reactive power absorbed by the line we will get a perfect voltage regulation. Anyone knows how to come up with the equation?
