An Engineering Mentor typically would be an industry professional, who is associate with a professional association that has ties to a university's student organization which has a program for mentoring students. Mentoring could entail provide career path guidance, professional association guidance, etc...

Check with your university to see if they have any such programs. Additionally, check with some professional associations (e.g. ASME, IEEE) for more information.
