The discussion revolves around Halloween costume ideas and experiences. Participants share their plans for dressing up, with one person considering an Indiana Jones costume while another plans to revisit an Ali G outfit. There are nostalgic reflections on past costumes, including Peter Pan and various humorous takes on dressing as a hobo or a Spanish Inquisitor. Some express disappointment over not being able to execute their ideal costumes due to time or budget constraints. Techniques for creating costumes, such as using latex for special effects, are discussed, along with playful banter about past Halloween experiences. The conversation also touches on the idea of sharing costume photos post-Halloween and includes light-hearted exchanges about the nature of their costumes and the memories associated with them. Overall, the thread captures a mix of creativity, humor, and camaraderie among participants as they prepare for Halloween.

I should think that it would depend upon the reason for her (him?) tossing it. Is it because she figures she'd never look as good in it as you did, or because you left a surprise behind for her?

Er, the first one...

OK! Since today is the day I think it's time to resurrect this thread.

What are you dressing as/are you dressed as/or were you dressed as for halloween?

Tonight after work I will be dressing up as a sort of vaudeville style hobo/tramp. I'll see if I can get a pic of it.

It's like $400, but I'm getting it next year.

Now that's one hell of a costume.
I had thought about trying Van Helsing before but I think that would be quite an endevour to pull off well.

Now that is quite possibly the coolest Halloween costume I have ever seen, as authentic as in the movies. Nazguls definately have the "more-smiting-less-trickortreating' look about them.

Imagine walking down the road and seeing this:

I am dressing up just like a technician in the high tech industry, and going to work.

I'm going to dress up as Jesus or the US Constitution and go "scare" liberals since they seem to be "scared" of anything they don't believe in or agree with.

So you kill people, perhaps your ex's, on Valentine's day too?

Often, yes, though if they're nice to me, I might torture them first.

Yes. I first dressed up as a security guard and went to work. I then dressed up as a hobo and went out with my friend for drinks. He was dressed as a franciscan monk. I think I actually looked more like a refugee from Oliver Twist than a vaudeville style hobo. I did have a bamboo cane. I couldn't find my flask. Also I need very much to get a bowler or a derby because the hat I wore was a boxer cap which is what made me look more like I was from Oliver Twist, or a chimney sweep from Mary Poppins as the bartender guessed.

Didn't get any pics.

There was one year back in the 90s from which I can barely remember anything. There are just a few random images remaining...

...I see a bowling pin, Cool Whip, handcuffs, and a Richard Simmons workout video.

I was a pink fluffy bunny!
