I don't think that this answer is right but don't know what else to write:
9. Living organisms include macromolecules which include proteins. Proteins in a tertiary or quaternary structure may form an enzyme (example: catalase) which are essential for the well being of the organism. A lack of an enzyme such as catalase prevents the organism from performing a certain function such as breaking down certain foods or poisonous materials such as hydrogen peroxide. An organism will not be able to live if it does not contain the required enzymes to carry out its functions.

Just a few thoughts...

Macromolecules include carbs, lipids, nucleic acids, and proteins. If you choose to focus on proteins, and specifically enzymes, you should also include why enzymes are so useful. Enzymes are catalysts...the reaction can take place without an enzyme but it may take a lot of time (in some cases, millions of years) to do so. You can also include a discussion of activation energy and how that's related to enzymes.
