SUMMARY

The average mass of a car is approximately 1,500 kilograms, while the average mass of a car engine ranges from 100 to 300 kilograms, depending on the type and size of the engine. Users in the forum suggest utilizing Google for quick access to these figures, emphasizing the effectiveness of search engines for obtaining specific data. The discussion highlights the importance of precise search terms to yield relevant results for projects involving scaled models of vehicles.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of vehicle specifications
  • Familiarity with online search techniques
  • Knowledge of model scaling principles
  • Awareness of different types of car engines
NEXT STEPS
  • Research average car weights across different categories (sedans, SUVs, trucks)
  • Explore the impact of engine size on vehicle performance
  • Learn about model scaling techniques for accurate representations
  • Investigate materials suitable for building scaled car models
USEFUL FOR

Students, hobbyists, and model makers interested in automotive specifications and those creating scaled models for educational projects.

Hi I just wanted to know what is the mass (in kilogram) of an average car and the mass of an average engine.

This is for my project and I want to know their masses to make a scaled model of a car for my experiment.

Good question.

What zhermes is saying is that it should be fairly easy to find those numbers using Google. So for example, I was lazy and just Googled "what is the mass (in kilogram) of an average car and the mass of an average engine" (I did the search without the quotes), and got lots of good hits. Please try that search to see if you find what you are looking for.

Google is a very helpful tool for things like this. There are times when I use Google Images, to help me narrow my search more quickly. But in this case, the easiest thing was just to do the search on your own words.
